Yay! It’s almost time to open presents! I can’t wait to see my kids’ faces when they open their stuff. Until then, there are a few other things I could be doing. I hope things are clicking right along at your house. So far, so good here, but I do still have some stuff to take care of.
Today is a good day to finish shopping for fresh foods for your holiday feast. As noted before Thanksgiving, food won’t be any fresher on the store shelves than it will be at your house so if you still need some things, now is a good time to get them. I know, it’s the weekend before Christmas, but you can’t buy fresh stuff too early. And, if you wait any later it will be even more hectic.
Another good idea is to check your coupons. Some may expire on or just before Christmas. If you want to use them, you may need to do so now.
Do you have all your stocking stuffers? While Santa may fill stockings for good girls and boys, you might want to add some things too or fill stockings for big people, since Santa may not still deliver gifts to them. Santa brings stuff for kids here in our part of the world, but he doesn’t usually give adults presents. So, I need to pick up just a few more stocking stuffers and wrap them.
If you have a guests staying over, have you supplied Christmas stockings for them if necessary? This is something that is easy to forget only to realize it on Christmas Eve when it’s a little late to do anything about it. Been there, done that, years ago. Luckily, I did still have some older stockings. They weren’t in bad shape, but none of them matched, which is why I had replaced them. I quickly printed out stickers with my computer and put names on the stockings. It worked in a pinch, but I would have rather had new ones for everybody. It was a challenge trying to come up a few little gifts (mostly candy) at the last minute to fill them too, so I thought I’d add this reminder.
