Earring organizers are very trendy at the accessory stores, but there really no need to spend a lot of money to organize your earrings. Here are three great ways to store them frugally. See which method works the best for you.
I tend to store my earrings in a cubby drawer on my bed’s headboard. The problem is, though, is that I always find myself rummaging around for a matching pair. I’m always worried that I might accidentally knock one out of the cubby and have it lost forever. A great solution to prevent the searching and the panic can be found in any drug, discount or dollar store. It is the 28-day pill organizer! Simply put one pair of earrings into each little compartment. The pill organizer is clear, so you can see all of your earrings at a glance, and it can be easily taken along for travel.
Make your own earring organizer by taking a picture frame and removing the the glass and the cardboard backing. Purchase a small amount of vinyl window screen at your local home improvement store. Cut the screen to the same size as the photo frame glass and secure it inside the frame. Hang your earrings through the screen, and you are all set.
If you like to store your earrings in a drawer or a jewelry box, this is a great way to do just that. Take a piece of thin packing foam (the kind that might wrap up fruit or delicate glass items) and cut a strip that will fit the width of your drawer, or the compartment of a jewelry box. Push the pin (shank) of the earring through the foam and secure it with the earring back on the other side. You can group them by style, color, etc.
