Throw a Snowman Party

Whether you are looking for a cool way to keep the kids occupied while they are on Christmas break, or you need a few kid-friendly activities for your upcoming New Year’s Eve party, these snowman-themed games and projects are sure to put the freeze on complaints and whines:

SNOWMAN DRESS-UP RELAY

Fill up two boxes or laundry baskets with items that a snowman would wear, such as scarves, hats, gloves/mittens, boots, buttons (with double-sided tape) and brooms. You can create a carrot nose by using orange felt and elastic. Next, divide the kids into two groups and have each form a line. When you say “go” the first person in each line runs to the box/laundry basket and puts on all the snowman clothes and does a little dance. Then, he takes everything off and runs back to tag the next person in line and that person does the same thing. Repeat until everyone in line gets a turn. The first team to complete the dress-up relay first wins.

STUFF THE SNOWMAN RELAY

Materials:

Filled Balloons (about 15 per team)
Extra large white sweatsuit or a large white t-shirt.

Directions:

Inflate all of the balloons in advance.

Divide guests into teams of equal number of players, and have each form a line.

Have the first person in each line put on the suit or t-shirt over his/her clothes.

Everyone else in line must stuff balloons under the suit or shirt of the first person in line. Set a timer for two minutes and see how many balloons the team can stuff into the outfit before time expires.

Repeat until everyone in line has a chance to be stuffed. The team who stuffs the most balloons in two minutes wins.

PUDDING SNOWMEN

Ingredients:

One 1-ounce box of sugar free instant vanilla pudding for every five children

1/2 cup of milk per child

1 small Ziploc bag per child

1/2 cup measuring cup

1 bowl per child

1 spoon per child

Chocolate chips or M&Ms to decorate snowmen

Directions:

Place a tablespoon of pudding mix and milk in the Ziploc bag. Close bag and have kids shake and squeeze pudding.

When the pudding is done, have each child empty pudding into bowls and decorate pudding snowman blobs with chocolate chips or candy.
