Golfer Tiger Woods was involved in a minor car crash yesterday morning. While I think everyone was glad to hear the golf legend only suffered minor facial cuts from the wreck, a lot of people are wondering just what happened as the details are sketchy.
Tiger’s Cadillac Escalade SUV hit a fire hydrant and his neighbor’s tree as he was leaving his gated $2.4 million dollar home near Orlando, Fla. at 2:25 a.m. Reports are that his wife Elin heard the crash and had to smash the rear window with a golf club to get Tiger out. Police found her hovering over him in the street as he went in and out of consciousness. An ambulance took Tiger to a local hospital.
The weird thing was that Tiger’s reps had no comment about the wreck or Tiger’s injuries for almost 13 hours after the wreck. His agent and spokesperson said there wouldn’t be any comments other than the brief statement that was posted on his web page: “Tiger Woods was in a minor car accident outside his home last night. He was admitted, treated and released today in good condition. We appreciate very much everyone’s thoughts and well wishes.”
Troopers originally tried to talk to Tiger after the incident, but he wasn’t coherent. After arriving at the house once he was released from the hospital, troopers were told Tiger was sleeping. They agreed to come back today to talk about the incident today, but were once again turned away. The troopers were told that the couple wasn’t available and asked to have the interview rescheduled for tomorrow.
Some people were wondering just where Tiger was going at that time of the morning. Just days ago, the National Enquirer had published that Tiger had been seen with New York nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel. The story even said the two had been seen together in Melbourne, Australia where Tiger had been competing in the Australian Masters. Uchitel has denied any wrongdoings. Tiger and Elin have been married for five years. The couple has two children.
