Time Management Struggles

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos
Time is money. When you waste time, you waste money. We all are forewarned of this reality. With all the time wasters and distractions pulling at us, we need to learn to work smarter not harder. We must discern distraction from opportunity. There are always projects, emails, social media, and obligations to manage in our business. Staying on the course and remaining focused will help you succeed in your business.

Ways to Manage Your Time

Start your morning out strong by starting on your most important project. Nothing comes before putting one hour into your most important project. This includes email and social media.

Join Buffer or HootSuite to schedule your social media updates throughout the day or during vacations. However, you will not want to overuse this service or it could appear you are distant from your customers.

Schedule office hours. Your time is valuable and required for success. You can remain flexible and available to your family and friends but you need to respect the time that goes into your business before others will.

Prioritize your email. Make it a policy that you will answer emails within 2 to 3 days. This gives you a bit of buffer room and lowers the pressure of getting through emails. As you go through your inbox answer in order of importance and allow some to fall into the 2 to 3 day gap. Do not use auto responders unless you are on vacation or it will take you more then 3 days to respond.

Delegate when possible. You cannot do everything on your own. Arrange guest posts on your site to give you a bit of a break. Hire a graphic designer for tasks rather than figuring it out on your own. Give your kid some extra allowance by helping you where possible. Teenagers are great for helping with social media and computer work.
