Tired

Some days are hard. Some weeks are exhausting. The other day I had to take one child to baseball, one to volleyball, get several articles done, answer fifty emails, update my company’s social media sites, update my company’s blog, clean my house, do the laundry, make dinner, chase after a little one, plan my homeschool year, get a new business plan together and stay in control. I then stayed up to 4 am getting as much done as possible. I had to be up by 8 am at the latest. I felt pretty good which surprised me. So, like a true crazy person I stayed up to 4 am the next night or morning. I still felt pretty good until later on that evening. I turned from mommy to monster and resented having to make dinner.

What’s wrong with that picture?

Everything. It is so easy to get overwhelmed when you wear several hats. Being a mom alone puts in you in the category of wearing multiple hats. Since my neck was not breaking from the weight of that I added in freelance writer and business owner. My neck was breaking. I had lost sight of why I took on so much responsibility. I was exhausted and there seemed to be no way out. Articles were due, business plan was due, kids needed to go to practice, kids needed to be taken care of, my husband needed me to pay the bills and make some phone calls, and laundry waits for no woman. There was no light at the end of my tunnel. Everything seemed to be on the same level of importance and all of it demanded my attention NOW. There are just not enough hours in the day to get everything done.

Have you ever had days like that? Have you ever felt overwhelmed, exhausted and like you are in bondage to time? What do you do? Tune in for some solutions tomorrow.
