TLC Drops Jon and Will Ferrell to be a Dad Again

It probably comes as no surprise that TLC announce this week that they dropped Jon Gosselin from the “Jon & Kate Plus 8” show. When the show starts up again on November 2, it will simply be known as “Kate Plus 8.”

Why the big change? In a statement released, president and general manager of TLC, Eileen O’Neill, said, “Given the recent changes in the family dynamics, it only makes sense for us to refresh and recalibrate the program to keep pace with the family.”

A source told PEOPLE that “Given Jon’s recent antics, there was no way the show could continue to portray him as a doting Dad, not while all this other crap was going on.” The source went on to say that Jon will still make appearances on the show from time to time.

Kate Gosselin however is doing double television time. She appeared as a guest host on “The View” recently and is rumored to be working on a pilot for the Food Network which will also star Paula Deen.

In Touch magazine reported that Jon is trying to slow down the divorce from kate. He told them “I regret my conduct since Kate and I separated … I used poor judgment in publicly socializing with other women so soon.” Wow Jon, you think? Anyhow, Jon has asked that the divorce be delayed for 90 days so he can “retain control over the future of our family.” I may be wrong, but I suspect money is the issue here, not family.

Meanwhile, Will Ferrell is adding to his family. The former Saturday Night Live star and his wife Viveca Paulin announced that they are expecting their third child. This will be boy #3 for the couple. The baby boy, reportedly due in January, will join big brothers Magnus (age 5) and Mattias (age 2).
