I love pajamas. Pajamas are cute and comfortable. Jessie is very particular about her jammies. She will tell you that she wants to wear Doo Doo Dora, Elmo, or Princess. She will let you know if she plans to embellish her jammies with a tutu.
Some of our favorite days are jammie days. Jammie days are the days that we lounge around the house without ever changing out of our jammies. It’s much easier to leave Jessie and Baby E in jammies too. Some days Jessie just does not want to get dressed. It’s bad when those are school days, though.
Jessie loves books. She has books everywhere and takes them to bed at night and for naps too. She takes books in the car and when we have appointments. Because Jessie loves books so much, my mom sends books to Jessie all the time. Grandma understands the pleasure and importance of jammie days so one of the books she sent to Jessie is Polly’s Pink Pajamas by Vivian French and illustrated by Sue Heap.
Polly loves her pink pajamas more than anything. Polly wants to wear her pink pajamas everywhere she goes. When Polly is invited to her friend’s party, she discovers that she doesn’t have a thing to wear. She goes to different friends for different articles of clothing. She puts on each piece of clothes over her pink pajamas. Polly is disheartened when she discovers that none of the clothes fit right. The party friend calls to find out why she’s not at the party and Polly wails that she doesn’t have anything to wear. But it’s a pajama party, Polly. Polly is on her way.
Polly’s Pink Pajamas is an adorable book and the pictures are sweet. Vivian French has a lot of titles and they span a good age range.
