Tools Used By Real Estate Agents

A good real estate agent will use a variety of tools to sell your home quickly and for a good price. For starters, the real estate agent will put a “for sale” sign in the yard, telling anyone that sees the house that your home is now on the market. The sign identified the listing agent’s company, the agent’s name, and contact information for interested parties. The for sale sign is a great tool for generating calls.

With the sign, people driving by or neighbors will know you now have a house on the market, which means worth of mouth. In addition, the real estate agent could place a flyer and/or brochure box in the yard. With this, people interested in knowing more about the house could pull out a flyer to see photos of the house on the inside, learn about room dimensions, look at the list of amenities, and learn the asking price.

Then, if you work with a broker, he or she may have a broker preview, which is something open to all members of the local Multiple Listing Service or MLS. This preview usually occurs within the first week that your home is on the market. Other agents from local real estate companies will come through the house so they too can help market it to one of their clients.

Then of course, there is the open house. With this, advertising would go out to notify the public about the open house so people can just show up on the designated day to walk through you house. The house should be neat and orderly, pets kenneled, put in a small room, or kept in the backyard, and always have something to drink and eat such as coffee and cookies. In addition to making the home inviting, it also makes the home smell wonderful and inviting.
