Sure, everyone runs and hides when the missionaries come knocking, but you know there are times when you’re glad your neighbors are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
1. You mention in the morning that you have the sniffles and a slight cough. Your neighbor shows up the door that night with three course dinner and a smile.
2. You get lots of free movies. Sure, they are religious movies, but who knows when they will come in handy? It seems like every time the church magazine mails out a new one, your neighbor brings it over with an invitation to watch.
3. When there’s a blizzard and you run out of staples like bread and milk, your neighbor is there to provide. Sure, it’s powdered milk and homemade bread, but the second more than makes up for the first.
4. Once a month, your neighbors come over to chat and share a spiritual message. It’s almost worth the Jello salad they bring.
5. You never have to worry about loud bass exploding from their windows. A rousing chorus of “Come, Come Ye Saints” perhaps, but no bass.
6. On random Monday nights, they invite you over for a night with games and fun. Sure, they try to share another missionary moment, but the best part is the treat at the end of the night.
7. Your husband’s entire family is coming over, and you need a recipe (or several) that feed twenty people. Your neighbor is there to lend a hand!
8. Your doctor orders you to start cooking with whole wheat flour, but you have absolutely no recipes. Over comes your neighbor, and she even brings a wheat grinder ‘just in case’.
9. Who else can you find to play piano at your office get together on a moment’s notice? Just call your friendly Mormon neighbor.
10. After your neighbor introduced you to these two nice young men that were friends, those two guys in suits asked if there was anything they could do to help. They came over the next week to patch that annoying hole in your roof.
