Every marriage has its ups and downs, right? Sometimes we look at another couple in the church and think, gosh, they are the perfect couple. I wish my spouse and I could be like them. But how do you know if you are one of those mythical folks that others envy? Here are some ways to tell if your marriage is the ideal Mormon one.
1. You don’t just finish each other’s sentences, you start them.
2. Since your children never see the two of you fight (not because you hide it, but because you guys just aren’t fighting), they never fight, either.
3. You always have that I’m-glowing-with-happiness grin that is just nauseating. Seriously, it is. So quit doing it!
4. Every night, when climbing into bed, you find out that you are praying for the same things without prior discussion. “You were praying for the car engine to stop knocking? Me too!”
5. The most often heard phrase in your house is, “No, honey, let me take care of that!” And you both say it.
6. Whichever of you is cooking always prepares the other’s favorite – and you both take turns cooking.
7. Over the years, you’ve started to look more and more alike. You know, like pets and their owners.
8. Your children never play house because it is so peaceful and calm that it is just too boring.
9. You both think fifteen kids is the perfect number, without ever having discussed it. You came into the marriage in agreement on the subject.
10. You and your spouse frequently get that tingly feeling in your toes that means Heavenly Father was just about to translate the pair of you, then remembered you had some more work to do on earth.
