Top 10 Workout Videos for 2010

In your quest to find that perfect gift for family and friends, don’t forget to think about those New Years Resolutions you will be making soon. You know what I’m talking about, the ones about losing weight and eating healthier.

This is probably the perfect time to pick up a workout video so that you will be ready come January 1st.

According to Fitness Magazine, the following are the top 10 workout DVDs for 2010. Fitness Magazine actually tested out these videos before they compiled their list. So this way you know that it’s tried and true.

Making the list first is “Beat Belly Bulge” with core training being the focus. It helps to work on your stomach with Pilates, dance and martial arts.

Next on the list is strength training, “Jeanette Jenkins: 21 Day Total Body Circuit Workout” but you will need 5 to 10 lb dumbbell weights for this one. This workout video focuses on toning your muscles.

For a quick workout try “10 Minute Solution: Tone Trouble Zones!” which comes with a resistance band. There are five strength workouts that target areas such as your bottom.

If you are looking for an overall body workout, “Bell Express 15 Cardio Fitness Kit” might be what you need. This comes with a jump rope and stability ball. It is a short but intense workout routine.

Now for something lower body you might try “Tracie Long Training: Better Burn…Better Buns.” You will need a 2 to 6 lb medicine ball. If you aren’t familiar with what a medicine ball is, which I wasn’t, it is a weighted ball about 14 inches wide. This video helps to tone your legs and butt.

If Pilates is your thing then you might like, “Stott Pilates Intense Sculpting Challenge.” It pairs traditional Pilates with a muscle-toning resistance band that comes with the DVD.

Next is something I just might invest in. I love dancing and still think about the old school days when I used to listen to the likes of Run DMC. It is “Dance Off the Inches: Hip-Hop Party.” It focuses on cardio and core-strengthening.

I didn’t know he was still around but apparently Billy Blanks is still at it. His DVD, “Billy Blanks Tae Bo Amped” uses kickboxing to workout. It also comes with a 3 lb weighted bar.

This one made me chuckle. It is apparently not for the faint of heart. Sounds like you already need to be in pretty good shape before you try it but it’s called, “Get Ripped & Chiseled with Jari Love.” You will need 10 lb dumbbells for this workout routine that gives you hardly any resting time. And get this; it is a 60 minute video.

Last but not least we have something for the mellower type, “YogaFit Ultra,” which has a variety of yoga poses and sequences.

So there you have it, your top 10 workout videos for 2010. Get ready for 2011.
