This is the last installment of my mini-series about using Firefox as a browser. If you missed the rest of the series, make sure to check it out here!
Here are five extensions I use and love, that just add that last bit of gentle goodness to using Firefox as your browser. They are rather random, but they have all impressed me, so you’re stuck with the list. If you have some you feel I missed, please feel free to leave a note in the comment section!
1. Forecast Fox ~ This is a great extension for anyone who wants a quick and easy way to see today’s weather, and a forecast of the next two days, by just glancing at the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. If you’re the type who likes to plan ahead (should I do yard work today or will the good weather will hold out until tomorrow?) this is the extension for you.
2. Scribe Fire ~ If you blog on a regular basis with Blogger, Word Press, or TypePad, this would be a great add-on to add to your repertoire. If you come across an article or website you want to blog about, you can click on a button, blog directly from the website you want to blog about (you don’t have to leave it to log into your blogging website) and publish it right then. It does not work with Families from what I could tell, but for my Blogger account, it worked great.
3. Toodledo ~ If you’re anything like me, I tend to always have a long list of things I need to do, but I never seem to remember to write them down, and worse, have a hard time finding the lists that I do manage to write down. Well, no more. Toodledo is a great way to keep your to-do list handy at all times. No more hunting for scraps of paper!
4. Status Bar Calculator ~ I am not very good at math in my head, and I tend to stumble when I have to add or subtract large numbers in my head. I used to use the Windows calculator, but now that I have this installed, I don’t have to. It installs at the bottom of the screen in my toolbar, and so I don’t have to go anywhere to use a calculator and do some simple math. I am getting very spoiled here…
5. Internote ~ This one is more of a novelty to me, although I can its uses. If you go to a site and find yourself wishing you could stick a Post-It note to the webpage, then your wish has just come true. Internote allows you to post sticky notes to sites, only seen by you. Fairly customizable, and could be useful, depending on your browsing habits.
Well, I hope these extensions were of some use to someone somewhere. Does anyone have some add-ons that I didn’t mention, that are worth downloading and using? I’d love to hear about it!
NOTE: I do not work for Firefox, nor am I an affiliate of Firefox. I am not receiving any sort of payment or gifts for mentioning Firefox or Firefox add-ons in this blog. I just happen to think they’re cool, and want to tell my readers about them. Just wanted to make that clear. 😉
