Top Five Tips for Using Rubberized Shelf Liner

Do you use rubberized shelf liner? I love this stuff! You can grab a roll for a couple of bucks at any number of your favorite stores and comes in different textures and colors. It works great as shelf liner, but there is so much that you can do with it.

Try some of these tips for using rubberized shelf liner:

1. Well, it’s called shelf liner for a reason, but most people simply use it to line shelves in cabinets or pantries. Some might even use it inside drawers, but why not use it to line the shelves in your fridge? If something spills, pull the liner out and replace it. This makes it much easier to keep your refrigerator clean.

2. Rubberized shelf liner also makes great disposable coasters. It’s non-slip, so simply cut into circles (or whatever shape you like) in the appropriate size, and glue to a felt or terrycloth backing.

3. If those April showers are bringing more than flowers and also bringing mud, rubberized shelf liner will also work great as floor mats in a pinch. Cut the shelf liner to size and place it over the carpeting in your vehicle, so muddy shoes have a place to rest without making a mess of your interior.

4. Have you ever used those little cut out designs or even rubber mats in your tub? Rubberized shelf liner works too. Make sure you don’t get vinyl, like wallpaper, but that you get the rubberized kind with openings that go all the way through. It makes a great surface cover, which you can cut to size. You can add some waterproof adhesive to ensure that it’s non-skid, and you can even cut it into shapes and designs if desired. It’s much less expensive to use than some of those other options and you can get creative with it.

5. Another good use of rubberized shelf liner in the bathroom is lining your soap dish. Cut down a piece that fits snugly into the bottom of your soap dish, and forget about scrubbing away sticky soap scum! Simply replace the material as needed and your soap dish will stay much cleaner.
