I absolutely love what I do now, but I also love to daydream. That’s why, when I see any information regarding different types of businesses and jobs, I always take a look. I especially love when people put out the ‘top job’ lists, so that is what I’m sharing with you today.
What would I be doing if I didn’t own the business that I own you ask? Several ideas come to mind. I’d be a photographer and/or a writer for a national magazine like Food and Wine or, even better, a travel mag, which would mean I’d get to fly all over the country shooting pictures, writing stories and eating exotic foods. Okay, with a husband and two young children at home I guess this wouldn’t be the best career option, but a girl’s gotta daydream, right?
What else would I want to do? I’d love to own my own print magazine, which would focus on women in business and include make-up, fashion and frugal living tips. But I don’t have the money or time to publish a national publication of my own, so I guess my third choice at a new career would be the owner of a bed and breakfast. I posted about this before, so I won’t go into much detail: Only that this career would include a quaint cottage located on ten acres in a mountain area near a lake and snow skiing; nightly wine tastings and cute little snacks like scallops wrapped in bacon for the guests; and pretty little baskets filled with sweet smelling lotions and creams on the back of every toilet.
So, what do you think the top jobs are right now? According to an article I just read, until the year 2014 health careers and those in technology are expected to offer the most growth. If I had to give someone a shot I’d probably pass out, so I guess I won’t be pursuing the health end of that list, but at least I fall partially into the technology side.
Take a look at the list and give me your feedback. Are you considering switching careers? Is your career of choice listed here? If you could have any career at this point in your life, what is it that you would do?
