Top Ten Facebook Games for July 2011

Wondering why no one is Diner Dashing with you anymore? Check out the most popular Facebook games for July, thanks to InsideSocialGames.com. I’m providing descriptions for you in case you want to check them out for yourself.

1. Cityville

In Cityville, the goal is what else, to build a city. The building are fun to build and fun to look at, but you are taxed early and hard if you don’t have any friends. This game relies heavily on social interaction.

2. Farmville

Plant crops, raise farm animals and interact with your neighbors. See my complete review of Farmville here.

3. Empires & Allies

This is a relatively new game that debuted in the top five right away. Empires & Allies, as the name suggests, is a war game in which the players have to construct different structures that will help build an army. The army has to be led into battle against other opponents that are generated by the game. It is similar to Cityville.

4. Texas HoldEm Poker

You can brush up on your skills without going broke at the table. Texas HoldEm Poker can be played with your existing friends or with new ones that you meet in the various lobbies that are available.

5. FrontierVille

Yet another “ville” game by Zynga, this one has some strong things going for it, from original and very interesting social mechanics to random events that happen when you least expect it and make it seem like you really are living on the frontier.

6. Bejeweled Bliss

One of the few games that you can play enjoyably without having to rack up tons of friends who play it too, this casual game has translated nicely to the medium of Facebook apps.

7. Gardens of Time

I really enjoy hidden object games, because they don’t rely on all of that social interaction. Sometimes I just want to play a game quietly by myself. The graphics and style are gorgeous to look at, so you can appreciate the art while you are hunting for clues.
