Traditional Meat Lasagna
Great make ahead and freeze dish.
INGREDIENTS:
16 count dry lasagne noodles
1 lb ground beef
3 cups tomato sauce
2 lbs ricotta cheese
8 oz mozzarella cheese, grated
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 tbs chopped fresh parsley
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 375F. Cook noodles according to package instructions; drain and rinse.
2. Brown ground beef in a large skillet; drain.
3. In a large saucepan, combine meat and tomato sauce and simmer 15-20 minutes.
4. In a large bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, a half cup of Parmesan, eggs and parsley.
5. In a 13×9 baking dish, spread 1/2 cup of meat sauce over the bottom.
6. Place 4 lasagne noodles over the bottom, overlapping.
7. Spread a third of the cheese mixture over noodles and cover with 1/2 cup of meat sauce.
8. Repeat layers two more times. Cover last layer with more noodles.
9. Spread the remaining suace on top and sprinkle with remaining Parmesan.
10. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and back additional 10 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
