Transatlantic Cruise Deals

I can’t imagine anyone choosing to cruise to Europe instead of Hawaii, but the reality is that the lure of crossing the Atlantic aboard a cruise ship is considered by many as one of those travel experiences one must have before one dies.

Which is why when the price on a legendary European voyage dips, cruisers tend to buy first and ask questions later. Such is the case with the following deals for fall departures. The price is beyond right and the cabins are filling up quickly. Take a look at these deals (some that feature discounts as much as 50%) and see if they tempt you to reach for your wallet.

NORWEGIAN GEM

This trip sets sail on November 16th on the new Norwegian Gem. For just $809 (inside cabin) you will hit the high seas from Spain’s Barcelona on a 13-night transatlantic voyage that ends in New York. CruisesOnly is currently offering this stellar sale, which features discounts of 47% off rack rates. Oceanview staterooms are going for $999 and balconied cabins are priced at $1,349. If you take into account that the regular price for inside units are typically listed at $1,529, then you’ll realize how incredible this sale is. Your travel itinerary covers seven entire days at sea crossing the Atlantic, plus visits to Villefranche-Sur-Mer in France; Livorno and Civitavecchia in Italy; the French island of Corsica; and Malaga in Spain.

MSC CRUISES

Orbitz is currently offering ocean-crossing voyages for November departures aboard MSC Cruises’ Lirica. The 18-night transatlantic cruise departs from Italy’s Genoa and travels to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. For $1,199 for inside units and $1,499 for oceanview lodging you will visit Barcelona; Morocco’s Casablanca; Tenerife in the Canary Islands; and Portugal’s island of Madeira. The ship also makes calls in Barbados, Antigua, St. Thomas, and Puerto Rico. The sale price saves you 50% off the rack rate of $2,400.

HOLLAND AMERICA

Vacation Outlet is offering cruisers the chance to cross the pond in November aboard the upscale Holland America’s Rotterdam. The 15-night New World Adventure voyage departs on November 4 from Portugal’s capital of Lisbon, en route to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Along the way you will visit Portimao in Portugal; Cadiz in Spain; Morocco’s Casablanca; Funchal on Madeira; and Lanzarote and Tenerife in the Canary Islands. Eight full days at sea are also part of the trip. And the asking price for all this fun is just $1,299 (inside cabin) and $1,499 (oceanview units). The normal price for an inside unit is $1,949.
