FOODIES
Do you really need an excuse to vacation in Hawaii? If you insist on having a legitimate reason to fly to paradise to experience golden sunsets, pristine waters and world-class accommodations I may be able to help you out.
Forget about grabbing your surfboards for an island adventure; rather grab your fork and your appetite and head over to the Hawaiian Island of Kauai for the annual Taste of Hawaii culinary festival. The popular festival features gourmet food booths hosted by dozens of the state’s top chefs in a setting of lush botanical gardens and lagoons.
The best part—-the hotel that’s situated directly across from the festival grounds is offering an unbelievable discount. The Aloha Beach Hotel Kauai is slashing room rates in time for the June 3rd food festival. The hotel is offering a rate of $75 per night plus tax (rooms typically cost $220 per night) for a one or two-night stay on June 2 and 3.
HOT RODDERS
I call it the “mid-life crisis” car. I don’t know a single man alive who wouldn’t love to slide behind the steering wheel of a red hot Lotus roadster. Most of us could never afford to plunk down $50,000 for a chance to park it in our garages, but I may have the next best thing.
The luxury sports car is at the heart of a travel deal being offered by Honolulu’s Waikiki Parc Hotel. The “Room & Vroom” package gives guests the option of driving a Chili Red or Chrome Orange Lotus Elise, which goes from 0-to-60 mph in 4.8 seconds and reaches speeds exceeding 150 mph.
The two-night package starts at $565 and includes the room, use of the Lotus, and complimentary valet parking. Prices are good through December 20, 2007.
DIVERS
Divers who enjoy using the latest technology for their underwater explorations can do so for a great price while on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Kona Village Resort is offering “Scooter Dive Deals” to adventurous water lovers. A scooter or a DPV (Dive Propulsion Vehicle) offers swimmers a chance to increase their underwater air supply by 50%. The hotel is currently offering a 20% discount off Scooter Saddles and hand-held DPVs.
