If you are a single parent coping with the complexities that come with raising children on your own, planning a family vacation may slip to a distant ninth or tenth on your list of priorities (if it appears at all). In some single parent families (or even in dual parent families) it is a challenge to budget any type of vacation. However, if you have the means and the desire to spend quality time with your child in an exotic location, then you may want to consider this travel deal.
“Beaches Resorts” is offering a Single Parent Friendly promotion from August 18 to October 31, 2006. This is the fourth year that the resort is offering to waive the single supplement (of up to $180 per night) for single parents traveling with children. In addition, the resort will implement Single Parent Friendly on-site activities. These include kids’ movie nights to allow parents to spend one-on-one time with their children during the day and partake in adult conversation and fellowship at night.
I profiled another “Beaches” kid-friendly vacation package in a previous article. As a result, I have received positive feedback from parents who have commented that their experience at the resort was more than favorable. Both families took advantage of the Sesame Street Adventure package and said their children loved it.
You may be familiar with the “Sandals” chain, which offers all-inclusive vacation packages; “Beaches” would be considered the family version. “Beaches” has three properties in Jamaica– Beaches Negril Resort & Spa, Beaches Sandy Bay, Negril, and Beaches Boscobel, in addition to one in Turks and Caicos. The resorts include kids programs and kid-friendly amenities, including massive pools with water slides, play areas, video game centers, snorkeling, and scuba. In addition, Beaches Negril has a new water park, and Beaches Turks & Caicos has a pirate-themed water play area.
