Let’s face it; there aren’t many hotels that willingly embrace guests who ask for a late check out—-free of charge. In fact, an increasing amount of lodgings are now imposing steep fees for guests who want to extend their stays by a few hours. Which is why I was not the least bit surprised when I heard a Florida hotel was offering incentives for guests who leave the property early.
The historic Don CeSar Beach Resort in St. Petersburg, Florida just introduced a new incentive program for guests. If you check out by 10 a.m. you’ll be entered to win a two-night return stay. According to hotel managers, one award is given out per week.
The goal is to get housekeeping in early and get the rooms cleaned so guests looking to check in on time won’t have to sit around waiting for their rooms.
DENVER’S NEWEST RITZ
In eight short months Denver, Colorado will host the Democratic National Convention. However, the city is not known for having a bevy of luxury lodgings, which might be why the Ritz-Carlton set its sights on Denver when it came time to expand its chain.
In case you are looking for luxe digs to reside in during your Denver stay here’s the lowdown on the high-class hotel: The Ritz-Carlton, Denver is scheduled to open next month. It features 202 rooms including 47 suites and 32 Club Level rooms. The introductory rates will start at about $250 a night.
“CUDDILLOW”
Finally, it’s all the rage at one European hotel. Travelodge in the United Kingdom has created a “Cuddillow.”
What’s a Cuddillow?
It’s billed as the UK’s first cuddling pillow. Basically, it’s the perfect solution for travelers who find it hard to fall asleep on the road without being in the arms their mates. The pillow is about 2 feet long and includes two stuffed arms to wrap around you. And the best part… the hotel is offering the pillow to guests for free.
