Treat Dad on Father’s Day

spaghettiFather’s Day is the perfect time to surprise Dad with a special treat. What better way to make Dad happy then to fill his tummy with great food. Some of these specials can be used after Father’s Day as well.

Start out Father’s Day with a free breakfast from McDonalds. They will be giving away free breakfasts to each Dad that is accompanied by a child on Father’s Day morning.

TGI Fridays will be giving away free beer battered onion rings with the purchase of an entree, to visitors on Father’s Day.

If you are lucky enough to have a Planet Hollywood located near you, they have a coupon circulating for $10 off a $20 food purchase. This coupon does not expire until December 31, 2009. Check out their locations and you can use it on your next vacation as well.

Does Dad like going to buffets? These are popular in our home. From the chain that brings you Old Country Buffet, Hometown Buffet, Ryan’s, Fire Mountain, they are now offering a new special. When you sign up for their mailing list, they will send you a coupon for a buy one get one free dinner. Use this coupon to treat Dad to a dinner where he can choose all of his favorites.

Bucco De Peppo is offering $10 off any $30 purchase on Father’s Day from 11am-4pm. This is a great place to enjoy family style Italian dining.

After you have finished dinner, treat Dad to a desert. TCBY is offering a free yogurt cup or cone to every Dad on Father’s Day.

Baskin Robbins is giving away a free quart of ice cream with any $15 ice cream cake purchase. This offer expires June 30, 2008. These cakes are great for other celebrations including birthdays and graduations, you might have this month.

Always call the restaurant ahead of time to make sure they are accepting the coupons or offering the promotion. If Dad’s favorite restaurant is not listed here, call and ask if they are having any special promotions for Father’s Day. They might surprise you and say yes. It never hurts to ask. While you are on the phone with the restaurant, ask if they have a call-ahead waiting list. Restaurants are usually busy on Father’s Day, so there could be a long waiting list. This will save you some wait time.

Here’s a unique freebie for the sports fan in your life. Visit the website of your favorite team and send them an email requesting a fan pack. Be sure to include your name and address. They will send you a package that could contain pictures, autographs, stickers, pencils, or cards. This is a great way to teach the small sports fan about sending emails and the workings of the post office.
