True Citrus Recipes

By now I am certain you know my new diet find, True Citrus, is current favorite of mine. I praised the product for its versatility, flavor, and bringing flavor without adding sugar, fat or calories. Finding real solutions to cooking with fat and sugar will change your lifestyle to a healthier one. In this spirit I wanted to share a few recipes using True Citrus that I love!

True Lemon Strawberry-Cherry Slushie

Description

No extra sugar required! The fruit stands out in this tart, sweet dessert.

Ingredients

12 sweet cherries, pitted

1/2 cup whole strawberries

1/2 cup diet cherry soda

2 packets True Lemon

1 tablespoon of thawed light whipped topping

2 ice cubes

Directions

Chill 12-ounce glass.

In blender combine all ingredients until smooth.

Pour into chilled glass.

Calories – 91

Fat – 2 grams

Carbohydrates – 21 grams

True Green Iced Tea

Description

Green tea gets even more oxidant power and great taste with True Lime and Orange.

Ingredients

2 Green Tea bags

4 cups water

1/3 cup sugar (or to taste)

1 packet True Lime

1 packet True Orange

Directions

Boil water in a glass container and steep tea bags for 4 minutes. Remove tea bags. Add sugar, True Lime and True Orange and stir.
True Lemon Baked Salmon

Description

A quick basting makes a lusciously moist fish dish.

Ingredients

1 salmon fillet (2 pounds)

2 tablespoons butter, softened

1/4 cup white wine or chicken broth

4 packets of True Lemon

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon dried tarragon

Directions

Pat salmon dry.

Place in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish.

Brush with butter.
Combine remaining ingredients; pour over salmon.
Bake, uncovered, at 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork.

I love citrus flavored drinks and foods and with summer on the way it’s so refreshing to have these little packets on hand. I am just giddy over having a way to liven up my water and tea without guilt. To think I can liven up eating in the same way has me over the moon!
