My twentieth week of pregnancy begins with my sister still visiting! At twenty weeks some things have changed but most things have stayed the same. I have made it to the half way point which makes me feel like my pregnancy is official well on its way.
Things that are the same include the same basic diet, exercising regularly, the same feelings of loosened ligaments, and the same energy level. My diet has not changed much in the course of my pregnancy. Protein still rules the bulk of my daily calorie intake. The types of proteins I eat vary a little from week to week but my breakfast of three eggs and sausage have stayed the same. I am still exercising five times a week. I recently added (thanks to my sister and brother-in-law) a fun cardio workout to my weekly routine; although it is not a prenatal workout, it is easily modified. I can still feel my loosened ligaments but my midwife has recommended different posture positions and movement to help with the loosy goosy feel. My energy is soaring and with the added energy from my sister visiting, I am getting a lot done too!
Things that have changed include a more active baby, a belly that (in the right clothes) looks pregnant, and I have started to get the baby’s room (really the kid’s room) in order. My baby moves a lot as she should and for the first time my husband was able to feel her moving. It is so reassuring to feel my little girl twist and turn in my uterus! Of course she likes to be super active when I am trying to sleep but that is perfectly fine with me. I love feeling her move! Thanks to my growing, moving baby I am finally looking pregnant. While some clothes still make me look like I have a beer belly, my more fitted tops really show of my small baby bump! In anticipation of my little girl’s arrival, I have the motivation to get the “kid’s” room in order. I have gone through baby clothes, unused diapers, and the general layout of the bedroom and I have some ideas too!
Week twenty is going great!
