Uma Gets Engaged and Kimora Gets the Kids

Just weeks before her ex-husband’s lover is due to give birth to her children’s new half-sibling (got that) Uma Thurman has gotten a massive rock and a wedding proposal.

Thurman is officially engaged to her Swiss multimillionaire boyfriend, Arpad “Arki” Busson, according to her rep.

New York’s Daily News was the first to report the engagement adding that the actress has always wanted to add to her family, but unlike her ex, Ethan Hawke, who impregnated the couple’s former nanny she plans to do it the old-fashioned way—after she is legally wed.

As for the bling that Thurman is now sporting, reports say the award-winning actress received an 8-plus carat center stone surrounded by 20 smaller stones.

Sources close to the couple say a smitten Busson has been wanting to pop the question to Thurman for a while. The couple began dating last summer after attending a private dinner together in Milan.

While no wedding date has been set, this will be the third marriage for Thurman, who has a son and daughter with Hawke, whom she divorced in 2003. Her first marriage to Gary Oldman ended in 1992. Meanwhile, Busson has two sons with former supermodel Elle Macpherson, from whom he split in 2005.

KIMORA GETS THE KIDS

While Thurman rejoices about her pending nuptials another star mom is also reportedly celebrating about her latest gain.

Kimora Lee Simmons has reportedly won sole custody of her two daughters Ming, 8, and Aoki, 5 with hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons.

Three months ago Kimora filed for divorce from Russell and asked a court to award her custody of the pair’s daughters. Yesterday TMZ.com obtained legal papers that revealed that the girls will remain with the mother and see their father one week out of every eight, plus extra time for summer vacations and holidays.

In addition, the mega-mogul will pay $20,000 per child per month in child support and he is mandated to buy or lease a car valued at $60,000 or more for the girls once every 24 months.
