Yesterday I wrote about how problems with uneven skin tone sent me in search of remedies, one of which was clay-based face masks. That’s how I stumbled upon Kanwa Minerals, which not only sells clay face masks, but promotes clay as a cure for all sorts of maladies.
The Clay Cure
On their site they have a tab called “The Clay Cure,” but in my recent purchase they also included literature of the same title by Ran Knishinsky.
Apparently clay can do more than replenish minerals in the skin. It can be ingested to replenish minerals internally too. It can also bind with disease-causing toxins and eliminate them from the body.
But apparently not all clay is made equal. Some types are better than others.
Calcium Montmorillonite Clay
The type of clay that Kanwa uses, and Ran Knishinsky considers best, is calcium Montmorillonite clay minerals. It’s potent stuff from what I gather because it’s loaded with minerals from “volcanic ashes and ancient oceanic sediment consisting of seaweed, algae and other calciferous marine life.”
What makes it stand apart is that not all clay contains trace elements like Montmorillonite does. And especially not in the amounts it does. (Apparently vitamins and enzymes rely on trace elements to do their jobs.)
What’s So Great About Montmorillonite?
It’s found in Eastern Pakistan, Western China, Western Russia, Ecuador and Peru.
Some claim it’s responsible for fending off aging-related diseases, as is proof by the fact people in the above mentioned areas routinely live to be 120 to 140 years old –while maintaining quality of life. (Meaning they’re not only long-lived, but they’re also healthy and productive.)
Ills Clay Can Cure
Besides detoxifying the body inside and out, clay can treat:
• allergies
• hepatitis and cirrhosis
• acne
• ulcers
• eczema, itching, hives
• the liver
Clay can also:
• aid digestion
• counteract poisoning
• be used as food
• relieve nausea
Clay in Research
When astronauts developed severe cases of osteoporosis after returning from extended space missions, calcium alone wasn’t enough to help. They were given Montmorillonite clay mineral supplements after NASA-based research showed the clay reversed osteoporosis in animals.
Cool Clay Products Kanwa Sells
As I mentioned before, I was interested in using their face mask, but of course I ended up buying some other things, like their Foot Mask and Clay Bath Skin Detox.
But do you know they were nice enough to send me some free samples? I got some toothpaste, conditioner, and their Ancient Clay Wind Soap.
But they also sell a Joint & Bone Health Supplment containing Montmorillonite. And when it comes time for me to worry more about wrinkles and keeping them at bay, I might give their Ageless Clay Face Mask a whirl.
