When it comes to being clever, fashion designers in Japan are hard to beat. Just wait until you learn what one Japanese clothing company has created for the lazy… ahem, I mean, busy corporate folks who don’t have time to take their suits to the dry cleaner.
No time to get your suit professionally cleaned? Never mind, just take it to your bathroom and hang it in your shower.
It’s no joke. The clothing company Konaka has just unveiled a one-of-a-kind “Shower Clean” line of business suits, which can be washed in a warm shower and require no ironing. According to manufacturers, the suits are made of a lightweight fabric and are easy to clean – really easy to clean.
All you have to do is reverse the jacket and pants, put them on clothes hangers and run them under warm water for a few minutes to clean the inside. To clean the outside simply reverse and repeat the process, then drip-dry.
Konaka designers say the suits were specifically made for job-hunting college students (to wear to all those job interviews) as well as young single businessmen who live alone.
The suits are available for both men and women and cost between $260 and $492, according to the company, which has some 320 stores worldwide.
This next item is not very unique in and of itself, but the images and captions displayed on them are what make them hot Christmas gifts for trendy loved ones.
“I’ve Been Good All Year” Tees. I saw these shirts for kids at Urban Outfitters and got one for my nephew. They are the perfect gifts for the well-behaved children in your life. Or the kid who wants to convince others of his or her kindness. The green short-sleeve short with festive colored writing costs $28.
Old Navy Holiday T-shirts. Old Navy has a slew of holiday tees that take their cue from holiday jingles, including “All I Want for Christmas is You” and “You, Me and The Mistletoe” and my favorite, “I Ate The Milk and Cookies.” If you buy two or more, the price of each shirt drops to $12.50.
Christmas Story Shirts. Who hasn’t seen the holiday classic that features Ralphie’s winter antics? The website 80stees.com has a “Triple Dog Dare You” Christmas Story tee and others with screen printed images of the most famous scenes — Ralphie looking on as Flick panics with his tongue frozen to the flagpole. The shirts cost $20 each.
