Unlikely Hollywood Fashion Designers

When I hear the name Luke Wilson the first word that pops into my mind is NOT fashion (or fashionable for that matter). Which is why I was floored when I learned that the actor is teaming up with PUMA to design a new line of modern golf apparel.

Well, at least he’s not designing women’s shoes.

The youngest Wilson brother says he plays “a ton of golf” so he figured it would be “fun” venturing into the world of sports apparel.

So what can we look for on the links once the new Wilson/PUMA collection is unveiled?

Company spokespeople say the new line features “understated styles that banish those vivid hues and bold patterns golfers traditionally sport.”

Wilson’s PUMA golf polos, shoes, caps and other apparel, for both men and women, will be available in May (just in time for Mother’s and Father’s Day) at select golf stores nationwide.

And if you were caught off guard by Wilson’s jaunt into the fashion world wait until you hear who is joining him…

Matthew McConaughey!

Huh? The guy barely wears clothes.

I suppose that’s why he is getting his feet wet with a new beachwear line.

The perpetually shirtless actor is spending his days counting down to parenthood by adding a surf-inspired line to his j.k. livin T-shirt collection. The new pieces include swim trunks for men, sandals, slippers, hats and other beach accessories. All of which will be available on his website starting this summer.

Finally, she didn’t exactly design them, but as the honorary chair of the Avon Foundation, Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon is encouraging all women to sport the new Women’s Empowerment Bracelet.

The silk and silver creation sells for just $3 with net proceeds of $2.25 from each bracelet going directly to create a new Avon Empowerment Fund. The first $500,000 from bracelet sales will be matched by the Avon Foundation for a total donation of $1 million to United Nations Development Fund for Women for projects that will empower women around the world.
