It can be exciting to learn something new about your favorite hobby – genealogy! A great way to do that is to take a genealogy class, or to attend a workshop or genealogy event. Here are some that will be happening this week. If you don’t see one that is located near where you live, I would recommend checking your local newspaper to find one.
On March 19, 2012, the Allen County Public Library, which is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, will hold a program called “French Canadian Research at the Genealogy Center”. It will start at 2:00 in the afternoon, and end at 3:00 in the afternoon. This is part of their “March Madness Genealogy Style” week. Several more events will be held all week long.
On March 21, 2012, the Abbot Public Library, which is located in Marblehead, Massachusetts, will have a genealogy lecture that is presented by Michael Brophy. He is a professional genealogical researcher, heir search specialist, and lecturer in the Boston area. His lecture will be about the release of the 1940 Census, and how to access all the newly available information and data from it.
Also on March 21, 2012, Flathead Valley Community College, which is located in Kalispell, Montana, will continue its Armchair Archaeology Lecture Series. It features E.B. Eiselein, who is an archaeologist and FVCC instructor. His tribal name is Speaks Lightning. This lecture is called “The History of Tobacco”.
March 21, 2012, will also be when the North Berrien Historical Museum, which is located in Coloma, Michigan, will hold a meeting of the Berrien County Genealogical Society. It will begin at 7:00 in the evening. Family historian Sue Sage-Ridge will present “Sue’s Genealogy Trips… Planning for the Long Distance Trip”.

On March 23, 2012, the Commodore Barry Club, which is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will have an exciting event held by the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania. The Ulster Historical Foundation, a group from Ireland, will give presentations.
