In a previous blog I reported that rapper Kayne West would spend today dining on a meal flash-frozen and flown in from the United Kingdom for a princely sum of $3,900. Well, guess what? According to West’s management team, the award-winning musician didn’t take one bite of the Indian meal.
In fact, West’s spokesperson told reporters that there was no meeting set for today between the music promotion company (which allegedly ordered the meal and paid for it and the restaurant’s head chef to fly to the Big Apple) and the rapper. In the end, West’s reps called the story “patently false.”
In addition, the music star’s publicist issued this statement: “Kayne wasn’t planning to be in New York during the week and the food wasn’t for him.”
Well, someone in New York is going to have an Indian feast tonight because the restaurant confirmed that the food was en route to New York by plane. And, what’s more, a promotion company called Raw Soul had already footed the bill.
Perhaps, West didn’t want to be a part of an extravagant meal many believed was a waste of money?
Speaking of wasting money… residents of Japan are resisting the urge to shell out $3500 for a chance to mingle with Michael Jackson.
According to a Japanese promotion company, tickets were still available for two of the Gloved One’s “exclusive” fan events in Tokyo this week. Organizers declined to say how many tickets were left, but some speculated that the price to be in the same room with the pop star was too steep.
So what will $3,500 get you besides being in the vicinity of a man who likes to wear masks in public? According to event planners, three-grand-plus will get you into a VIP party where you will be able to spend up to one minute of exclusive face time with the King of Pop.
Ah… I think I rather have the Indian food.
