Uses for Plastic Bags

Yes, I shouldn’t even be writing this blog as plastic bags are anti-green. But, sometimes I forget my reusable bags and end up with plastic bags from the store. You can return them to many stores for recycling, but there are also some ways you can been a bit green by reusing the plastic bags.

One easy way to reuse the bags is to put your dirty clothes in them. No matter where we travel, we end up with plastic bags and always use them for this. You can also wrap your shoes in plastic bags to keep them from dirtying up your clothes in your luggage bag.

Another thing we use plastic bags for is cat litter. We have two fur babies and we need somewhere to put the smelly litter. Not a great alternative, I know, but one we still use. The bags can also be used to pick up doggie poop.

When you go to a festival or event, take one or two of the plastic bags in your purse. You can use it to throw away waste during the event or use it to take home recyclable bottles and cans.

While it’s probably a better idea to use a biodegradable trash bag, you can also line small cans with the plastic bags.

If you are paining, use the plastic bag to line the paint tray. Some people use a plastic liner anyhow – at least this is reusing the plastic bags you already have instead of buying more. You can also use the bags for your brushes. Just wrap the brush in a bag, put it in your fridge, and it will keep it from getting hard and dry.

You can use plastic bags to pack up valuables for storage or for shipping.

Plastic bags can be put on your outside plants to protect them from frost. Just remember to remove the bag the next morning.
