Usher’s Wedding Cancelled; Thelma Houston Releases “Classics”

Usher’s Wedding Cancelled

Well, this certainly does not sound too good. Today, Usher’s publicist Patti Webster announced that the wedding between him and his pregnant fiancée Tameka Foster that was planned for today has been cancelled. I cannot imagine why they would cancel, unless they were just worried about paparazzi and trying to throw them off with the cancellation. Webster went on to say, “No additional information will be given regarding circumstances of the cancellation, but we hope the privacy of this matter will be respected.”

Usher and Foster became engaged earlier this year, but Webster would not make a comment when asked whether the couple was still engaged.. Tameka has three children from a previous marriage. This will be Usher’s first child, which is expected sometime this fall.

Usher continues to help the New Orleans community with his Project Restart, which helps families who lost their homes in the hurricane re-establish housing.

Talk About A Comeback!

It has been 17 years since disco queen Thelma Houston released her last album. Dumped by her label, the “Don’t Leave Me This Way” singer felt her recording career was over. Still performing in 2005, Houston began thinking of doing an independent project of classic songs. Now, many singers have done this, but Thelma had a twist – she was going to put a feminine touch to classic songs sung by men.

And so her new album “A Woman’s Touch” is due out August 14th. It will include songs such as Marvin Gaye’s “Ain’t That Peculiar,” Al Green’s “Love and Happiness,” Marvin Gaye’s “Distant Lover,” and Sting’s “Brand New Day.” She feels that her experiences as a woman will bring a completely different outlook to these already traditional songs. She will return to her dance music roots with a cover of deceased friend Sylvester’s song “Dance (Disco Heat)/You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real).
