Is it a special day in your home? Do you decorate, make special treats, pick out precious presents for your loved ones, or create sweet cards for each other? Everyone does something different. Maybe you have plans for a nice dinner or perhaps your sending special surprises to school for your kiddos or to the office for your spouse.
Have you received something special? My husband presented me with three long stemmed red roses surrounded by baby’s breath and leather leaf in a pretty crystal vase. He also gave me my favorite dark chocolate truffles. Sweets from my sweetie!
The things I gave him were more practical than romantic, but a man only needs so many pairs of satin pajama pants. I gave him a new sweatshirt, which he’ll get much more use out of than something satiny, some Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (his favorite), and a nice card. I took him out for lunch instead of dinner. If we had opted for dinner, we would have had all four kids tagging along. We usually bring them along, but it was nice to eat and talk by ourselves, spending a quiet hour to enjoy each other’s company.
We then dropped off balloons at school for our girls. We weighted them with their favorite stuffed animals. I couldn’t believe we were able to find all of their favorites. A cow for our sixteen year old, a Teddy Bear for our fourteen year old, a horse for our eleven year old, and an elephant for our six year old.
Daddy presented each of the girls with a carnation and an extra large Hershey’s Chocolate bar when they came home. They had a card for him that they all signed, and they also made cards for both of us. We had a quiet dinner and then we each enjoyed some of our candy.
Being a chocoholic, I just love Valentine’s Day!
