I am constantly amazed at the variety of freelance work that is out there. When I first started working as a freelance writer, I thought that most freelance jobs were writing jobs. It turns out that there are many freelance writing jobs, and the types of assignments that there are to choose from provide a wonderful variety of work. For people who are not interested in doing writing work, there are a ton of other ways to freelance.
Most people know that programming is a hot skill for freelancers. Whether you are into developing the latest, greatest apps or programming in a specific computer language, your skills are in demand. If you can build and maintain web sites, blogs, or ecommerce sites then you’ve got a job – or jobs – waiting for you.
Graphic design is another area where there is high demand for freelance talent. Companies need logos, writers need cover art for books, and edit images. If you think that you have what it takes to work as a telemarketer, you can get freelance work doing that. Freelance virtual assistants help offices to run more smoothly. Transcriptionists are always needed for audio and video files, and you could easily fill your schedule with jobs from one or more clients.
There are even freelance jobs for things that you would not normally associate with freelance work. I saw some postings on Elance for architects, marketing professionals, and consultants of all kinds. The bottom line is that there is so much variety available in the world of freelance work that if you are thinking about working from home, it is certainly worth taking a look around to see what you can find.
