Find out in this inspiring new story from VeggieTales, based on the beloved classic story of “A Little Princess” that reminds kids who they are in God’s eyes by Frances Hodgson Burnett, that has countless movie and book adaptations.

What We Thought

My family has been a Veggie Tales fan for over a decade. I don’t think there is a Veggie Tales movie my family has not seen and loved. Our first Veggie Tale movie was George and the Duckie and out latest is Penniless Princess, the latest Veggie Tale movie released in August of 2012.

Since I have two little princesses at home who feel being a princess is all about crowns, jewels and castles, I was anxious to show them this movie. I wanted my girls to understand that being a princess is not about wealth and kissing frogs to find a prince. True worth and royalty is who we are in Christ not in the world. This is a hard concept to understand for small children, especially with all the competing images and definitions of princess from the media. Veggie Tales is just the format to reach young princesses with the true message of royalty. My girls had a much better understanding of being a joint heir with Christ after watching this movie. Sometimes the silly and simple teaches the spiritual. Do not discount this movie for boys. The message is just as important even if you have to tweak it a bit to explain.
