Veteran’s Day started as a way to honor World War I veterans. In the United States, the banks and post offices will be closed on this national holiday, and many people will have the day off of work. Every year, retailers try to take advantage of this day off by having Veteran’s Day Sales. Here are a few you can check out this year.
Ideally, Veteran’s Day is supposed to be a tribute to all veterans, of any war. It is a day to show appreciation for the brave men and women who are currently serving in the armed forces. It is a day to remember your loved ones who have served, or who had a career, in the military.
It is a federal holiday, which means that your child’s school is probably closed today. You might have the day off of work. Every year, retailers try to maximize their profits by having a Veteran’s Day sale this weekend, (in the hopes that many of the people who have a day off will decide to go shopping). Here are a few of the Veteran’s Day sales this year.
Kohl’s is having a Veteran’s Day Sale that started today, Friday, November 11, 2011, and will go through Saturday, November 12, 2011. The sale starts each day at 7:00 in the morning, and will end at midnight. They have 150 “2-Day Specials”.
All of their toys are currently on sale for 10% to 40% off the original price. This weekend, they are taking an extra 20% off those prices. All throws, blankets, and down alternative comforters are 55% off. Fine jewelry is 55% to 60% off this weekend. There are just a few of the things on sale at Kohl’s.
Sears has a Veteran’s Day “Price Blowout” sale, which has Red Tag appliance for 20% to 50% off the original price. Kenmore appliances are up to 25% off, and other brands are up to 15% off.
Sears also has a “Veteran’s Day Big Sale”, which will end on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Coats, for the who family, are 50% off. Mattresses and foundations are 50% to 60% off. Craftsman power lawn & garden and Outdoor Storage is 20% off right now.
Kmart has a Veteran’s Day Sale that started today, Friday, November 11, 2011. It will continue through Saturday, November 12, 2011. Many of their sales are online only, so I would suggest checking out their website, rather than going into a Kmart store. If your total order is $49.00 or more, use the promo code: HOLIDAY for free shipping.
Disney has a printable, in store, coupon that will save you 20% off your entire purchase. It looks like it also gives you free shipping on your order of $75.00 or more. If you shop from their online store, use the Promo Code: DISNEYPAL. This coupon became valid today, November 1, 2011, and will be good through November 15, 2011.
