Wall-E Heads to California; Jasmine Sings in L.A.

I love summer time, it reminds me of great vacations in the past to both Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida. I’m often leaning more towards Disney World than Disneyland, but here are a couple of news bits that have me thinking I’ve been shortchanging California.

Wall-E at California Adventures!

If you needed another reason to pay a call on Disney’s California Adventures, here’s a great one! A friend of mine who gets an annual pass to Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventures every year received a newsletter announcing that a real, mobile audio animatronic Wall-E will be roaming around the park. The 3-foot-tall robot was shown at the Philadelphia Science Center.

There is no current schedule for Wall-E appearances, so park visitors will have to be vigilant if they want to catch sight of him. There’s also nothing being advertised on whether or not Wall-E will show up at one of the Disney World parks (I’m thinking Epcot would be appropriate), but here’s hoping for the future.

Lea Salonga in Concert

On July 11th, Lea Salonga will be delivering a one night only performance. Salonga is a Tony award-winning singer who has also appeared in Les Miserables on Broadway. Disney fans know her better as the voice of Disney’s Mulan as well as the singing voice of Aladdin’s Princess Jasmine.

Salonga will be performing at the Walt Disney Concert Hall as a part of the Global Pop series. The performance will be a first for a Filipino singer at the Concert Hall. There’s also a discount to be had for seniors and students (two for the price of one basically), so check out the music center for more information.
