Want a Fresh Perspective? Try Rearranging Your Home Office

Do you feel yourself getting in a rut? I confess that I am someone who has a tendency to get bored when things stay the same for too long. If your home business relies on your coming up with new and fresh ideas, or you’re just feeling like you’re dragging along without much inspiration—a change may be in order. And, it may be as simple as rearranging the furniture in your work space.

Have you been looking at the same wall or out the same window at the same view for months or even years? Perhaps you can close your eyes and visualize every lamp, chair, and piece of furniture in your home office or work space. It’s hard to see things with a fresh eye if you’re in the same environment. Taking a day or so off to rearrange and redecorate your office space can do wonders!

Maybe a trip to a local furniture store or office supply store will help get your creative juices flowing. Additionally, borrow a suggestion from home decorators and flip through magazines—tearing out pages that have elements of the style or function you would like to incorporate in your home office. You may decide that all you need is to flip the furniture around, or that you’d like a complete reorganizing and redecorating session to make the most of your urge to update your work space.

When rearranging your space, you might even want to do a little Feng Shui research and see if there is a way to arrange things that might be more conducive to creativity or productivity or other things that might be missing in your home business. You don’t have to pay for an expensive specialist—a trip to the library may be all you need to brush up on the Zen of office space arranging and get your home work space rejuvenated.
