Want to Lose Weight? Just Watch Dancing With the Stars

I’m sitting here after eating too many cookies, watching Dancing With the Stars. Mario and Karina are sashaying across the dance floor right now. Their moves are great, but all I can think is, “My gosh, I wish I could wear that outfit.” Seriously. It barely covers anything, but it looks elegant. And with abs of steel, who cares if you bare your midriff? Heck, I’d be baring it all too if I had that figure.

Have you seen these dancers bodies on Dancing With the Stars? They put any movie star out there to sheer shame. But I’m sure those figures come from a lot of hard work.

There are a few lessons to be learned from Dancing With the Stars actually. The first of course is that exercise does a body good. Seriously. I remember the last season when one of the dancers actually lost 20 pounds while doing the show. How could you not lose weight though spending hours upon hours learning to rumba, salsa, and quickstep?

I’ve always wanted to take dance lessons—mainly for the fun of it. But taking dance lessons is a great way to get into shape and slim down as well. Have you thought about it? With the holiday season upon us, if you don’t have time for formal lessons, why not use all those family get togethers as an excuse to bust a move now and then? Grab your favorite relative and kick it up to holiday tunes. Dance with your kids when no one is looking. Better yet, dance with your hubby when EVERYONE is looking. J Use what you’ve got and let your feet do the talking. Before you know it, you’ll be feeling better and looking better too.
