Emily Price wrote a great blog about the advantages of sending e-cards over regular Christmas cards. She pointed out the savings in postage, and with stamp rates continually going up, soon it will be prohibitively expensive to mail anything. You can read her blog here.
In the blog, Emily mentions that there are several different places where you can go to find great e-cards, and I’d like to build on that by providing you with a list of some of the most popular sites to get you started.
Take a look at MyFunCards.com. They have hundreds of styles to choose from, all for free.
BlueMountain is a service my sister uses frequently. They have cards for nearly every occasion you can imagine, and they’re just darling.

If the recipient is into pop culture, send them a card from E Greetings. The cards you’ll find here have pop culture references and are quite comical.
What card company is more famous than Hallmark? I can’t think of one! It’s only natural that they should have e-cards, and well, now they do. Click here to send one yourself. Or send one to yourself! That would be fun!
Do you have a nature lover on your list? Send them a card from Care2.com. With over 25,000 cards to choose from in everything ranging from nature and friendship to romance, you’ll find what you need here.

If your recipient is an art lover, you really can’t go wrong with cards from the Museum of Modern Art. Click here to see the masterpieces made miniature.
After this long list, perhaps you still haven’t found just the perfect card. No need to worry! Visit Buzzle, where you can create your own card. Say whatever you want to say!
Most of these sites offer their services for free, but some offer a small free selection and ask that you subscribe to use the rest of their inventory. Membership fees are usually very reasonable, and with greeting cards now running at $3-$6 a pop plus the stamp to mail them, you could save yourself a grundle of money by going high-tech.
In addition, with sending an e-card there’s no mail delay. Say it’s, oh, Valentine’s Day or something, and I just remembered that I neglected to send a card to my honey. I go online, pop it off, he gets it within minutes, and he thinks I remembered. I saved the day and he didn’t even know it was in danger. Technology is so cool.
