Are you in need of something that you simply cannot find or afford to pay full cost for? Why not post your request in Craigslist’s “Wanted” section? The right person just may come along, read it and say to themselves, “hey, I have one of those that I have been meaning to get rid of”.
The wanted section is a great feature in Craigslist. It enables the seeker the opportunity to obtain something that they want and need assistance getting. It offers the “giver or seller” the opportunity to unload something that they are looking to get rid of. They may be trying to sell the item that is requested or it might make them think twice about something that they have that they do not need anymore. It might not have even crossed their mind until they come across your request.
In the request, the person who is looking for the item will list exactly what they are looking for. It may be a very simple description or very detailed one. They will give their location of the area in which they live in, a money offer and a telephone number or an e-mail address. You then call the person up or e-mail them regarding the item, payment if any and arrangements to meet up with them.
If you do decide to give or sell to the person you should request cash only. Be firm on this, as some people do get taken advantage of when the person who wants the item brings a check only. If you are giving it away, of course, you will not need to worry about it.
Of most importance, if you do decide to meet up with them to show, give or sell them the item, you should not meet at your home, but rather at a central location during the daylight hours. Be sure that the location you choose is a well-populated area. If at all possible, bring someone with you. These safety measures should be practiced just to be on the safe side.
Take a peek at the Craigslist “wanted” section now. Someone may be looking for something that is taking up space and room in your garage that may leave you with a great feeling, extra cash and room to move around in.
