WARNING: Do you consume these 5 foods?

You have heard the phrase “you are what you eat” many times before. I do have lady fingers but they aren’t cream filled and so far my hair hasn’t turned into curly spaghetti. However, there is truth in becoming what you eat. If you eat unhealthy foods you will undoubtedly become an unhealthy person. This line of logic is clear to most yet we do not always apply it to our lives. We are human sometimes give in to the things we crave to satisfy our flesh nature. I have a hard time respecting myself in the morning after eating a dozen doughnuts as I am sure many others do as well. We cannot be expected to give up everything but some foods are just a plain “no no”. I have decided to cut out the worst of the worst and I encourage you to do the same. Cutting out these foods by themselves may not cause weight loss but it will get you on a healthier track.

Five Foods to Always Avoid:

1.Doughnuts. I know that is a hard pill to swallow but that morning doughnut has to go. Doughnuts are full of trans fat and sugar. What? That is why you like them? Perhaps this is the case but your body will not like you for the invasion of sugar and fat that you consume. A doughnut can provide 300 calories almost entirely out of sugar alone!

2.Frozen TV Dinners. Most frozen meals contain partially hydrogenated oils (even Lean Cuisine and Weight Watchers) and are disproportionately high in fat and sodium. Frozen pizzas are popular but contain high amounts of fat and trans-fat. A better option is to make food ahead of time and freeze into the servings you desire.

3.Soda. While soda does not contain fat it does contain high amounts of sugar and high fructose corn syrup. If you think choosing diet is a better option, think again, aspartame is not a safe alternative to sugar. A serving of soda can contain up to 10 teaspoons of sugar!

4.French Fries. Do I really have to explain that one? We all know how much we love a good French fry and we all know how bad they are for us. They are full of calories and fat. In one sitting you can consume 500 calories and 25 grams of fat eating a large McDonald’s fry. Moreover, the process by which it is heated breaks it down and produces cancer causing substances.

5.Margarine. Break out the real butter next time you bake or cook. Margarine contains as much trans fat in one tablespoon serving as you are supposed to have in a day.

In my quest to find the worst of the worst I did come across a slice of cheesecake that will blow your mind or should I say the elastic on your pants. I love cheesecake but rarely eat it due to the amount of fat and calories in one slice. This slice of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory should not be eaten rarely but never. The Chocolate Tower Truffle Cake contains 1,670 calories and 46 grams of fat. If you eat that this weekend don’t even think about eating until Monday night.
