Ways to Share the Lord

  • A Christian can simply talk to their friends, neighbors, and family members. Sadly, for me, this is one of the most difficult things for me to do. In Mark 16:15, Jesus says, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”
  • A Christian should live their life as a light to the world. People will notice if you live your life in accordance with the Word of God. If a Christian truly lives in accordance with the Word of God, many people will want to know more about the way he lives his life.

In Matthew 5:14-16, in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus says, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

  • Spread information about the Lord by phone, snail-mail, email, or other internet resources. With the technology available in the world today, there are many ways to reach many people with whom you might not have contacted otherwise. Encourage people to sign up for emails with a daily scripture reading in order to read through the Bible in a year. Discuss Biblical issues and principals with others on the internet. I have found that many people are open to discussion in an internet setting, because they have questions and it is a less threatening environment. Take advantage of the opportunity to share the Lord with them.
  • Start a home Bible study. Invite Christians, and those who are not Christians. Spend the majority of the time in the Word of God, implanting a deep love and respect for the Scriptures for all of those involved. Remember what Hebrews 4:12 says in regard to the Word of God: “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
