Your baby’s first Christmas is so special. It marks the beginning of family tradition and memories to last throughout the years. I have been blessed to experience four baby first Christmas celebrations. Since it is a time to remember some gifts should be just as special.
Canvas Picture: Take a picture of your baby wearing her best Christmas outfit. You can have it done professionally or simply take it on your own. I think pictures taken by your family Christmas tree or mantel with stockings is precious and adds to the memory you are trying to preserve. You can take the picture with family or just your baby. Once you have the picture you love then have it developed on canvas. You do not need a large canvas as 8×10 will be sufficient. As the years go on and the babies come you will have a beautiful Christmas display of first Christmas celebrations.
Ornament: The first Christmas ornament for a baby is precious. You and your child will treasure it as he grows.
Christmas Clothes: This is a long term project that will take space and patience. Save all your baby’s Christmas outfits through the years. Once you have enough material make a quilt out of the different clothing items. Another idea would be to take clothing from the year and make a quilt using the material from clothing your baby wore her first year. Start with her take-home outfit and end with her Christmas dress.
Baby Doll Outfit: If you are a sewer you can repurpose your baby’s first Christmas out fit to fit your little girl’s baby doll. A sweet reminder!
Scrapbook Page: If you are a scrapbooker you will certainly make a treasured page. A twist on the idea may be a lovely way to remember this special time for those who do not scrapbook. Instead of making a book simply make a page and frame it. Hang it up every year to remind you of your baby’s first Christmas.
