Wedding Guest Book

There have been a lot of weddings in my family lately. I love weddings, so beautiful and emotional. My favorite part about weddings is how each bride puts her own spin on things and makes this special day her own.

One area that I’m seeing more and more originality is the guest book. Seems no one wants a guest book that sits in a closet and never gets looked at.

My sister Terrie wanted something original. The idea for this was all hers, I just put it together
since she was overwhelmed with other wedding duties.

Materials
Large painters canvas
Paint
Sharpies
Mod podge
Any other embellishments

This is so quick and easy. Take a large white canvas and find a font that you like. Print the first letter of the new couples last name, large enough to make a statement in the center of the canvas. Trace around the letter and then fill the outline with paint. /Do a second coat of paint to make sure everything is covered.

Use the letter you printed to cut out a letter from scrapbook paper, making it a little smaller than the painted letter. I found this textured scrapbook paper, with raised areas that feel almost like velvet. It’s hard to tell from the picture but it adds to the effect. Glue in place.

For the couples name and wedding date you can use stickers or free hand, I did a little of both.

Choose a stencil and using the same paint you used for the letter stencil a border around the canvas.

Set this up on an easel at the reception with lots of sharpies for people to write their sweet thoughts.

When you are done, seal it with a layer of Mod Podge. Now it can hang in the happy couples home as a reminder of everyone’s well wishes.
