I think this is the perfect challenge to finish up the year, and the month of December. After all, Christmas is over and we are probably all a little broke right? But, that doesn’t mean we have to stop scrapping! So this week, let’s think of ways that we can spend as little money as possible on a layout. But, the fun of this week’s challenge is that you still get to go shopping. Maybe you can score some great deals on those after Christmas sales!! The goal is to buy supplies, yet do it in a way that you can spend as little as possible and still have an amazing layout.
First step, set your budget. Everyone knows their limits, and knows how much they should or shouldn’t spend. So, before you even set foot in a store, write down the most you can spend this week on supplies.
Second, list 5 things that you need to create a new layout using new supplies. Here’s the catch, you have to buy these five things when you shop, but you have to stay within your budget. Don’t worry, you can do it with some savvy shopping.
Next, don’t pick up a single item that is not on your list. This is the dangerous part when it comes to scrapbooking. We always see things out there that we want, that we didn’t plan on. Keep you blinders on. Stay focused, and only buy the essentials.
Last, get creative. Don’t think you can do this because there is that one item that is a must have on your list. Try something different like making your own alphabets instead of buying them.
Tips:
*Shop around. If you can’t find it at one store, look at another!
*Try some Thrift Store Shopping
*Make Something that you think you need.
