Welcome to the 14th week of pregnancy! Have you started receiving pregnancy advice yet? If not, it is only a matter of time before everyone starts to chime in with their opinions and stories. Take them with a grain of salt- and try not to believe everything that you hear. Some of it is well meant advice, while others may be old wives tales.
What you may be experiencing
Food aversions and cravings may begin to kick in – which can make meal time interesting. You may find yourself craving foods you never even liked, or running from those that you loved. Most of these are normal- and due to fluctuations in hormones. Listen to your body however, and don’t try to be a hero. If the smell of onions and garlic makes you sick, don’t offer to make your husband a hoagie. Whenever cravings kick in- try to choose the healthiest option possible. If you are craving sweets- skip the candy bars in favor of fruit.
Your Baby
You have an active baby in there- even if you can’t feel it yet! If this isn’t your first baby, you may already begin to feel the fluttering inside, though don’t stress out if you haven’t yet. Placenta location, weight, muscle tone, and previous pregnancies all play a part in when you will feel your baby begin to move.
Fine details are also starting to appear on your baby- they even have fingerprints now!
Concerns or Points of Interest
Are you suffering from pregnancy envy? Then you aren’t alone- pregnant moms like to compare just about everything. From the size of their tummies to symptoms- everything is up for grabs. Try not to subject yourself to such comparisons however- because every mom and every baby is different. So if you don’t feel your baby moving at the same time as your best friend- don’t be concerned.
