Did you miss some of the blogs in LDS this week? Take a look at Week in Review and you can get caught up.
In “Gospel Doctrine: Pure Religion,” we discussed the Book of James and the admonitions he gives us as followers of Christ, particularly in regards to reaching out to the fatherless and the widowed and keeping ourselves unspotted from the world, which is the definition of pure religion. We also read his counsel to bridle our tongues and to be careful in the things we say on a day-to-day basis.
Then, in “A Typical Pinkston Sunday,” Tristi shares a glimpse into her life on a Sunday morning and how crazy things can get as she tries to get everyone out the door on time for church, only to spend half her time in the hallway, but how grateful she is for the spirit that she feels when she manages to survive the meetings.
In “Have the Christmas Spirit All Year Long,” Miriam shares ways to take the good feelings we have throughout the season and spread them throughout the upcoming months. We can play uplifting music in our homes, decorate with pictures of Christ, and concentrate on serving others.
Tristi shares a quote from Truman Madsen in “Dinnertime as a Sacrament.” Brother Madsen feels that dinnertime is a wonderful spiritual experience for the family, and as we concentrate on bringing positive attitudes to the dinner table, we can draw closer to the Lord.
“Sunday School: Temple and Family History Work – Who Needs Their Work Done?” shares ideas for finding ancestors who have not yet had the saving ordinances and ways to record the work when it has been done.
“Pressure to Be a Perfect Parent” discusses ways we can bring a spirit of love into our homes without feeling the pressure to do everything just right and the fear of making mistakes.
Miriam wrapped up the week with “Meditation,” as she talked about the importance of clearing our minds and concentrating on those things which are the most valuable in our lives.
Thanks for joining us, and we hope to see you again here in LDS.
