We had a lot of fun here in Media Reviews this week! For those of you who weren’t able to join us, here are the highlights.
Tristi wrote a review of Mary Higgins Clark’s novel “The Second Time Around,” the story of a financial reporter who is asked to investigate her brother-in-law’s suspicious death.
“Thanksgiving in the Barn,” a cute holiday pop up book featuring animals who have done their best to prepare a delicious feast, was reviewed by Lauri.
Then Tristi reviewed “An Acquaintance with Darkness,” a novel by Ann Rinaldi about the assassination of President Lincoln. She also posted “Christmas Shopping: Give the Gift of Literacy!” to encourage Christmas shoppers to put books on their lists this year, also kicking off six weeks of Christmas-themed book reviews.
She began the series with “While Shepherds Watched,” a story of the night of nativity, seen through the eyes of a small shepherd boy.
Lauri got our creative juices flowing with her review of “Country Living Merry and Bright: 301 Festive Ideas for Celebrating Christmas,” an inspiring book to help us make the most of the holiday season.
Then Tristi reviewed “Murder on a Girls’ Night Out,” a cozy mystery about two older sisters who help solve a murder and have a lot of fun while they’re doing it.
Other inclusions in the Christmas-themed book series are “How the Hibernators Came to Bethlehem,” “Pashmina, the Little Christmas Goat,” and “Wombat Divine,” which was adorable. Meanwhile, Lauri shows us a great twist on a favorite classic with “The Night Before Thanksgiving,” where all the characters have visions of turkey legs dancing in their heads. Sounds better than sugar plums any day!
Tristi then reviews a novel about a foster girl’s experiences in “The Road to Paris,” and takes a closer look at Amazon with “Amazon’s Bestselling Books — November 2007″ and “Using Amazon to Your Best Advantage.”
We hope to see you here in Media Reviews this week. Happy reading!
