Single parenting is full of challenges. Time management seems to be one of the greatest challenges that single parents face. Work takes up most of your day and you are expected to come home, do the cleaning, make dinner and try to get some quality time in with the kids. When do you have the time to do all that needs to be done? Trying to attain balance in your life is difficult. At the end of the day when all is said and done most of us go to bed hoping we gave our kids the love and attention they needed that day. We hope that our children closed their eyes feeling content and loved.
Finding time to spend and have fun with your kids on a weekday evening presents a challenge among the plethora of things that need to be done. Websites and board games provide entertainment without requiring you to run around the house. Instead you can pick something age appropriate for your child and sit and enjoy one another while engaging in a fun activity together.
Visitation schedules changing can also present a challenge when trying to have a healthy home and work life balance. It is important when there is a disruption in your daily routine to find ways to move towards a sense of satisfaction with the way your day plays out. Any negative issues that arise between you and your ex spouse will only cause you unwanted stress and your children the same.
Finding ways to incorporate simple, make ahead meals will save you time as well. Preparing ingredients the night, weekend or morning before a meal will help alleviate the list of dinner to do’s on a given week night and will free you up for some quality time with your kids.
